That’s the goal but I’m seeing some blow back on that silently, the cost of offshore still blowing the budget and with rework onshore, starting to use less offshore staff. But that is not the official statement lol
Sorry to hear mate. Unfortunately yes, if you are unhappy in audit I would suggest leaving public accounting and going to work in industry, or move to Bangalore
Agree with the others...it is all about outsourcing what is considered low skill work to save money on payroll.
There are a couple of issues with offshore which the partners will have to evaluate to see if it is worth the supposed cost savings: knowledge gap, time difference to try to train up and get work timely without rework, culture issues causing the employee to say yes to everything when you are asking if they understand the assignment and not asking questions when they don't, and if they run into an issue they stop completely and won't move on to complete the rest of the work and don't cumulative questions or open items. There are more but these are the big theme which causes budget overruns still because of the number of ti es yoy have to kick it back on top of reworking it to fix so we meet the deadline. Honestly I feel that we need a group of us folks there full time to help train and work with them all year combined with having groups come over here to work busy season with us to learn.

Thats the goal. All associate level work will be moved to india. Staff will be brought in at senior/manager level only to oversea offshore teams
I also agree that many positions will be outsourced. I hope that the work quality of the offshore team is poor which will result in less offshore staff. Sending work to India and other locations has been going on for over 20 years. If companies are not meeting their deliverables they will have to decrease their offshore staff. Leaving to go to work in industry might be a good change.
