When I was studying to be an engineer there was a problem at my university with the recording of grades, since I was on a scholarship I could not claim properly, later I had to repeat a complete semester with courses that I had already seen and passed, that is, I repeated a semester and When I graduated they realized the mistake, I apologized but time had already been lost.
When I started my master I had alcohol problems and the only thing that helped me was the commitment not to drink alcohol during the week to be able to pay attention to classes, I managed to stop drinking and graduated.
After being appointed team leader in the company of my dreams, (the mining company of my city), the owner of the company made a bad move to the state and was arrested for federal crimes, immediately we were all without work, and I fell into depression and I felt that it was all my fault, it took me a year and a half to get another job and I started as a rational engineer again, until I managed to become a process manager.
We embarked on a research project in our company to change the barite (element to thicken the control mud of oil wells) for a cheaper synthetic element, after 3 years it turns out that it worked but damaged the formation, so we could not do it using buuut, it does work to clean drilling mud tanks, so we didn't make it but we found something useful for other processes.
After starting to work and having financial stability, the company cut staff and a year later I was fired. It took me 2 years to get a job. I went to therapists and even psychiatrists, and they taught me to control my insecurity, and here I am, I got over it, I have a stable job and everything is fine.
I designed a mechanism that was incredibly complex compared to anything else at the company, and convinced everyone that we should make it. First run of manufacturing worked flawlessly. Every following run failed miserably - we just couldn't manufacture it. I spent time outside of my regular hours to come up with a better design that functioned just as well, but was extremely easy to manufacture with a slightly higher cost. I called some meetings, told everyone that my original design wasn't suitable for the product and owned that it was my mistake, then presented the new design. All departments were in favor and we swapped the new design. I got a thanks for my dedication from the president of the company, and 6 years later the company is still using the revised design.
