I recently left my job at a law firm in Jordan Within Jordan, I usually get interviews and offers, but whenever I apply abroad,I get rejections even before reaching the interview. I’m trying to pursue opportunities abroad for personal and professional reasons, but I feel stuck. I was even waitlisted for an LL.M Stockholm University but never heard back.
Due to financial limitations, I could not apply more widely. I would really appreciate your advice on how to improve my chances internationally.

Some ideas:

Apply for a job at the Amman office of firm with an office overseas, and then try to transfer

Improve your English and credentials and/ or complete studies overseas

In Jordan, focus on a niche practice area that’s in demand overseas

Also timing is important. Right now is a bad time for Gulf countries.

Are you applying for roles in countries where you already have citizenship?

Visas are very expensive and employers are reluctant to pay for relocation.

Yes but for the gulf countries the visas are not that hard
Any recommendations? I can accept to have a lower salary honestly at this point all I’m looking for is experience

Are you targeting specific counties abroad?

McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!

If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

Just had a hearing on my motion to compel where OC told the judge we hadn’t conferred before filing the motion. Not only did I attempt to confer on 3 separate dates, I attached the emails and his response that he refused to confer to my motion. Transactional junior associate in biglaw. Working for a dedicated practice group rather than in an associate pool. For the past few months, I’ve been loaned to another practice group for a good chunk of time. While the people are decent and the hours aren’t terrible, I detest the work and don’t see a future in this new practice. My main partner says it should end in the next month, but I don’t expect that to happen. Is it a terrible idea to ask to be taken off?
