I am a former paralegal who pivoted to work as a legal operations specialist. My skills were very transferable. Not only is it much less stressful than being a paralegal, I make more than I ever did as a paralegal.
What did you do to make the switch? I would love to transition as well but not sure how to go about it and be given the chance.
I started with my current company as a paralegal but realized the responsibilities were more aligned with legal ops. I wrote a proposal to have my title upgraded to Legal Ops Manager. It took a few tries, but they finally agreed and granted the request. Now that the company is experiencing some instability, hopefully I will be able to find another position in legal ops.
I've applied before, but even with 20+ years of in-depth experience in so many things, I've never received an opportunity to even interview, which stinks. I'm not sure what it takes to even get an interview, but would love to know as well!
Same!
Considered the switch, but never actually pursued it. A lot of skills are transferable. The trick is showing it in a different light that shows it working in a different role.
