I see SO many places on Zillow without Sqft listed. Is this a tactic because the place is small, or is this because they do not know? Can I look this up via other sources?

I haven’t seen that before in my market. I have noticed Zillow is terrible with holding pictures from the last selling. I always have to go to another listing site to see what the house used to look like.

Yeah I have my broker take down photos from all the servers

Look up the town field card. It should be a part of the town assessors record. That’s what they use to base taxes off of. At least here in Massachusetts

From a financial standpoint in this market, which would be a better approach in Austin -

1. Buy a ~8-850k house that meets most of our ideal criteria (size, schools, interiors etc) to stay long term

2. Buy a ~5-550k house that’s not ideal with the plan of moving into an ideal home in 4-5 years when kid is ready for school.

How easy is it to get a mortgage for the second home?

Any downside to buying a 1bed 170k starter house instead of paying 1.5k in rent for a couple of years? Living with parents and thinking of getting a new place post covid.

I'm able to buy the house all cash or at least 50% down (credit is low) and assuming closing costs are not that big a deal at this price point. If my math is correct then buying comes out to be better in this situation but I've never owned any RE before so wondering what else I might be missing.

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

I'm under contract for a new build in progress that won't be done until much later this year. I fully expect interest rates will be higher than what I originally estimated. I may or may not try to lock in a good rate early, but I'm planning on renting it out and this throws a bit if a wrench in my margins. I can take it financially, but wondering, If I absolutely needed to get out of buying it, what recourse do I have? Or could I go ahead, and refinance later (who knows rates at that time...)?
