My situation:I have filled visa and waiting for it from few weeks with company A and don’t want to join then because I have better offer from company B. Company B wants me to withdraw my visa application so they can file a new one for me and they r telling me they can’t generate my CoS until I withdraw application.How shall I withdraw my visa until I don’t even have CoS from company B??

Did you just get the offer or got it last year and are now working your notice period? If gotten last year, you need to do the math for how long notice needs to be. If just now, it’s not too late to be upfront. I personally think that at the very least, you should have mentioned it in your HR conversation when an offer was being proposed. Also some places only give pat leave if you’ve been at the firm for a certain amount of time. I know this is being reviewed but not sure if already scrapped so double check

I don’t think it’ll affect joining in that I doubt offers get pulled for things like this. I do think that an element of transparency would have been expected and appreciated though. A request to speak with HR once you knew they wanted to give you an offer in the spirit of full disclosure would have probably been most ideal but worth raising it now nonetheless.
Unless your company has a non standard policy, you won’t be entitled to statutory paternity leave. Given it’s only 2 weeks most organisations will help you out
Tell them now, you’re required to give 15 weeks notice
