I started in October (and just got admitted to the bar) and my cousin’s getting married overseas in a couple months. Is it a bad look to request 5 days off to attend this early in my career? My hours haven’t been high but I’m in a specialist group that typically bills less. I also haven’t said no to any work or assignments since starting.

I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 12. My family did not opt to put me on medication. I illegally discovered Adderall in college. Worked incredible. Got diagnosed after college & after having been fired from my first job. Passed the CPA exams on Adderall. Went off of it again. I do everything well at my job except for attention to detail within my excel files & emails. Will taking ADHD medication really fix this? Does anyone else have this issue and was it resolved by taking medication?

Im a first year and this hasn’t happened to me at my firm and they tell us not to cut our own time, but my first firm (short stint, small firm) did this to me allll the time and made me feel guilty — so just curious if this has happened to anyone in big law.

I’m a first year associate (almost second year). I work at a national firm and I’m not a litigator. When I started with the firm, I was told I could work out of any office. Long story short, I regret choosing the office that I chose. I’d like to transfer to another office - is that a difficult ask? I’m licensed in the state I’d like to transfer to. I don’t know how to make this request.
