I started working this year after my master in a European office. I don’t have a focus related to my specialty. I am being staffed to a project that doesn’t seem bringing me more skills except the soft skills. I started looking for new opportunities in the market, but I suffered from being rejected. As an expat, I have a visa constraint, which makes some positions out of my range. These days, I quite struggle with getting myself motivated in my work. Advice, please!

It was fine when I was living alone but my partner is seriously frustrated with how messy the house gets and how much I spend on supplies for these things. How can I be less impulsive OR how can I stay motivated past the 10 day mark?? TIA

Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!

Leaving - how does the process to use up remaining time off typically work? Suppose I have 2 weeks left. Would I give a 4 week notice + take the 2 weeks off after working for 2 weeks? Trying to maximize my time off between the roles while also continuing to get paid another few weeks.

Ex-consultant now in marketing. Used to be an avid follower here and got great insights on companies when trying to exit consulting so thought I’d try here for advice. Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.

4YOE @Amazon & trying to lateral to a similar role @FAANG. Have my undergrad GPA (3.8/4) on resume from top 15 school but colleague says to take it off (looks silly). If it’s a good school & high GPA, why ever take it off your resume? Even if 10 YOE...can’t hurt?

I’ve received several take home assignments that clearly use real company data or give a good indication to a company’s future strategy. If I wanted to be petty, assuming I haven’t signed any NDA or fine print promising secrecy, could I share this information publicly without facing legal repercussions?

Obviously I know it’s ill advised and this is purely hypothetical, but just from a legal standpoint, would I get in trouble? Seems like an obvious way to get back at a company.
