I teach at a K-12 comprehensive school and our administrative requirements and teacher duties are overwhelming. As a CTE teacher we have course building/planning, reporting, financial paperwork, multiple preps, resource management, CTSOs, subject area advancements, and additional PD. How do you convince admin that the additional workload from their micromanaging and additional duties isn’t feasible/reasonable?

I’m a senior career service coordinator for a trades school that recently became accredited as a college. I’m just curious what average pay for these roles are in Michigan?

What types of credentials does your program offer to scholars?

My concern is that here in Indiana, I have taught in 3 different districts over 21 years in traditional high schools & have not ever had a student teacher or Practicum observer in my computer lab classroom. The last school I left for my current career center dropped the computer science courses I spent 10 years building and refining all together. No qualified CTE teachers available. 🤷‍♂️

How difficult is it to locate vendors that work with your school’s procurement system? How do you obtain your specialized equipment/software?

This summer I will be teaching the two courses required to gain the extension certificate to be a New York State certified Work-based Learning Coordinator. Is there a requirement for additional training to become a WBLC in your location? Is it part of an existing CTE teacher’s responsibility or something else? Do you need a WBLC for your program approval?

Have any of you started using a virtualized platform (WVD, AWS, etc.) environment to virtual offer full computer access and specialized software for your scholars regardless of their home device? (Expensive, but very beneficial!)
