I have an offer to start at a new firm 3rd week of January and am trying to figure out timing on when to give a two week notice. For context I’m in consulting and our current projects are wrapping up by year end/we don’t get a busy season surge. I have two weeks of PTO to end the calendar year scheduled, and am afraid if I say anything before the break they’ll cut me off before my time off. Is giving notice first thing next year the best idea given my constraints?

Does anyone know the exact holiday dates that we will have in the last week of December? Has anyone received any email communication regarding this?

Do you think we will be able travel by Christmas for a vacation?

Does Slalom provide any extra days off in addition to vacation? For example, short days on summer Fridays and closure between Christmas and New Years?

What is a good conversation value for IHG / holiday inn points ? Is “13k points for $100 room rate “ a good deal ?

I’m in a little of a pickle but a good one. Offer A. Established “start up” doing well financially and projected to hit profitability. 130k base. Stocks offered, unlimited PTO, and 70% Medical covered. Offer B. Is at a business much larger…90k salary with 10% bonus and generous stock offering. Titles are different which is why the pay is much different. I know some may think it is a no brainer but offer A allows me to grow the department ground up whereas offer B id be apart of to just different

I have experience across multiple industries (tech/telecom/Pharma (dermatology)/beauty and skin care and I am looking for a Director or VP role (my last job was a VP). I would like to keep my base of at least $180k (is this reasonable if I look for Director positions too?) Would love to land something soon before we hit the holiday season. I want to resign from the current place I’m working at. I plan to pursue higher studies (LLM), for which I’m already admitted to a university, in the field that I’m working in right. The notice period at my current firm is that of 3 months. Please suggest as to when should I tender my resignation in order to get a small vacation period as well as the full salary for the months I’m working for

How long is too long to try to push back a start date? Getting a formal offer early next week but trying to keep that big law bonus if possible. Firm pays out bonuses Dec 30 & I have a vacation scheduled Dec 19-23 (and was planning on working remotely the week after too). Ideally want to get EOY bonus or negotiate for a signing bonus but is it too much to push for signing bonus and those weeks off? I'm open to working remotely those two weeks but know that may not be the best when I start.

I lateraled into a niche practice group in Sept 2021. I also have a 1 year old and have been mostly remote since I started - but have been keeping busy tracking towards 2400-2500 hours. I used to care about and chase the opportunity to produce cool/fun/funny work. But, as of the last couple years..it’s just more about stability, keeping working relationships happy, building finances, i.e. it’s just a job. Not about pushing for the most fun creative ideas—I still do that—I just don’t care enough to fight as much if they don’t get it. Definitely still feel genuinely defeated when truly awesome concepts get glossed over by a client who has no clue what they want.
