My client things change management is a band aid for poor/nonexistent operational policies. For example: someone isn’t reporting to the right team? It’s a change management issue.
Would I get in trouble with PwC if I did part-time work outside of my regular working hours? It is cost savings consulting for small businesses that would be far smaller than our client base.
Anyone on an “agile SAP” project? Are folks really using the agile SAP piece or is that just a way to use the word sprint in front of the client?skeptical and would like some add’l unscientific data.
Just for staffed on a project for my first life sciences client. Know nothing about the industry. Any suggested resources that I can use for industry knowledge? Or key things to google lol?
Does anyone have thoughts in getting their PMP? I run projects all the time for my current company but because of the nature of my role, they tend to last 2/3/4/5 days, with 2 & 3 weeks max.
In my next role, I’ll be running our client work more directly (vs being a liaison) with longer term projects and I know there’s quite a few hours involved in getting my PMP. What are some of the best tips/tricks y’all have used getting yours?
I spent the last two months avoiding my side project because I couldn’t smooth out the kinks. Picked it back up today, and knew what I had to do. Just a reminder that it’s ok step away.
Can I get in legal trouble for moonlighting for a client I have found on my own? Not sure if this affects non-compete as this was not a client my employment company has sent an RFP to.
TFW you have all status reports done and to the client before the long weekend and no deliverables til the end of next week. Yay!!

Watch out for Publicis—specifically Digitas. After a few weeks there, and a couple of quiet days (client is taking their time w/comments, etc) I was told that even though I was booked for that short week, I was only going to get paid for time actually worked—the 3 daily status meetings. Yes, that’s correct. 24 hours waiting patiently for the client comments and they’re paying me for 3 hours.
So I’m planning on putting in my two weeks on next Friday once the bonus hits. The manager and client are continuing to treat me like crap and ordering multiple impromptu asks that I previously spent 16hr days to complete regularly for the past 2 years. However, I have no motivation to do so anymore. But can’t escape this sinking feeling of letting them down if I don’t get all this done. How would you approach this situation?

I hired a start up tech company for the company I currently work for and have for the past 10 years. I love my current company but the money and rate of growth I need isn’t there anymore. I could excel with this tech company, I think I would love it, I know I would rock it. Is it unethical to pursue a position with the tech company?

About to start a new role in-house at a startup - after a few years in BigLaw - and wondering if you all can share your insights as to your lifestyles (and how they might compare to prior firm or other roles you’ve had). I think I’m realistic enough to understand it won’t be 9-5 - especially at a startup - but should I generally expect the lifestyle to be as bad as BigLaw, or at least to have late nights (i.e. past 10 pm or so), weekends, and vacations protected? What else is better or worse?
Was promoted to Principle System Engineer in December 2021 (Technical Band 3) and went from 81k to 98k. Our company has experienced significant attrition (13 engineers down to 4 engineers within 6 months) so a few months ago my director bumped me up to 110k based on me being a top performer in 2021 end of year review. I am grateful for the pay increase, but all of the coworkers who left have found positions that provide significantly higher pay. Am I being underpaid for my work?

You need to give things like this to us in advance to digest it before we meet to go through it.
5 min later-
We need to meet face to face every time you are presenting something for the first time.
How would you all handle working on a client that your agency works for but it believes and promotes things that go against what you (and against today’s cultural climate) believes in?
Repeat after me: giving 👏🏼 away 👏🏼 free 👏🏼 stuff (with a street team) 👏🏼 is 👏🏼 not 👏🏼 an 👏🏼 experiential 👏🏼 activation
I want the deck to be strategic (said in 3 separate emails). During the presentation “why don’t you have any executional information with costs?” That ‘s what I was looking for. 🙄😳
Present a spot featuring a women for a major media buy, the client says “we don’t want to have two women spots in a row.” So weird cause you’ve had 87 MALE SPOTS IN A ROW?
I had a client force us to write a TV script and work Harrison Ford into it somehow, just so she could meet him. It was a Pharma spot and we already had a successful campaign.
Client forced us to launch this god awful campaign that is as “We are hip! YOLO!” as possible. Our audience hates it and I am low key enjoying every “wtf is this?!” comment that gets posted right now.
Not a client but an old manager: there is no reason we shouldn’t be able to do high quality work that is fast, good and cheap. He’s the head of production at a major agency.
Organizing a press opportunity for an internal client. His final note to me: Please confirm time and also send directions.
Is my name Siri?! Who does that anymore?!
Client: can you send me the final spot?
*sends link (via their YouTube) to client*
Client: is that the same spot we approved?
Client asks us to design a poster for an IMAX movie that features how blockbuster movies are made. One of the key features in the movie is King Kong so we featured it prominently on the poster as well. Client asks seriously whether we need to be concerned about offending an African American audience. I shit you not! Arguably my most jaw dropping moment in this business.
Travels 3 hrs one way to clients office to present a deck. Sets up in the clients conference room and dials in for the team to listen in and so does the client. presents to client over the phone 🤦♀️
Client: Well it’s a pitch, but not really, you got the job, but I need two more people to convince, help me make endless presentations and reviews to a ghost boss so you can get nothing in the end.
Sat on a kickoff call with a client today who spoke about himself in the third person - the entire time!! 🤦🏻♀️🙀
