I wanted to move closer to home, so I'm currently working in a small 5-bed CCU after years of busy Med-Surg as a new grad nurse. It’s super quiet and peaceful, especially compared to what I was doing before. Sometimes, we only have 1 patient or just telemonitoring. I’m all caught up on my education modules and have hours of downtime, so I feel like I should be doing more. Would it be worth going for my CCRN with such low acuity, or should I just enroll in an NP or MSN program? How would you use the free time?

Senior engineer making 135k and I was offered a promotion to engineering manager after completing a development plan. Near the end of the plan and I expect compensation talks to start soon. Based on some research around Boston and my role in the company, I feel 165k plus 10-15% bonus is fair. Nonetheless, first time going through something like this and asking for thoughts and comments. Just completed my last shift in the ICU. I'm glad to be shifting back to the Maternatity ward. It was exhausting, and emotionally draining working with such sick patients. I know the work we did made a big difference, but I'm glad to go back to my favorite role!
