It's entirely possible the word retired is problematic. People may be thinking that if you retired once you may decide to retire again. When people hire someone they obviously don't want them to leave quickly. So finding another way to explain taking time off might be a better idea.
First, the job market for the last 2 years has been super tough and only gotten tougher the last few weeks. No one has been or is now getting interviews or hired unless they get very, very lucky or have connections. Second, if you’re volunteering that you “retired,” you are automatically putting your resume in DQ pile. You’re trying to job hunt with both hands tied behind your back and blindfolded. You need to reframe your two-year gap as a “break to take care of some personal/family issues” and leave it at that. When they ask why you want to return to work, you say the issues have been resolved and you’re ready to get back to working on your career. Make sure you’ve kept up with in-demand skills for your industry and highlight what you may have done during your break to keep connected and relevant. You’re still going to find it super difficult to even get a phone screen, but you don’t need to shoot yourself in the foot by saying you’re “unretiring.”
