I was approached by two different teams in my firm about filling vacancies on their respective teams. Of course, this is a good problem to have, but it has left me with a lot to think about, as the opps put me on very different trajectories compared to where I am now.

If anyone has had similar experiences, how do you best evaluate the crossroads? While money is very important, I assume it isnt the only thing.

Has anyone here dealt with a similar situation?

Can you talk to current team members and get a temperature gauge? Maybe come up with a list of some questions to ask based on things that you prioritize in the workplace.

Not only that it could be something she could enjoy in the future!

I would talk to members on those teams to gather their perspectives. It might be something you’d be willing to entertain a change in career paths. It might be something you’d e job more

Absolutely, that's my thought as well. Employee culture and team cohesion are so important, and I think many employees would love the opportunity to speak with the team before they agree to join! I wish I had done that at my current team, lol.

I would try to talk to the team members of each to try to gauge what each culture will be like

It's highly advisable to talk to people on the team and get a sense of things. Also try to find out some details on the work and get a good sense of whether what they're doing would suit your long term goals. Even if the team seems great, you don't want to get involved in something that takes you down a blind alley, or at least off the main road.

Whether they ‘can do cash or card,’ don’t buy it - they’ve got you once you’re in the car. Told airport emergency hotline and they are investigating.

Does anyone feel burned out from healthcare from this past year? I straddle tech trans and do procurement/manage the research department of a health system. Is it just me or do health systems compensate less? If I'm going to have to work long hours - I might as well get paid more going the private sector/tech company route.

I used to have a fitbit. Really liked a lot of its features. Like the reminder to move and the competition within the app (games and competitionvs friends). However, whenever I was at work I'd find myself taking it off for more comfortable typing and then forgetting it during the day. Now that I'm back at work I'm sitting more and need to move. I was thinking of getting an oura ring. Does anyone have one? Any thoughts as to which is better?

Additional Posts in Salaries in Finance

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

Does anybody know what the typical salary range is and total comp for someone starting out as an internal or external wholesaler? If you are one of these, can you share about your experience in terms of whether you liked it or not, work life balance, travel, etc?

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.
