I was gaslit today by the managing partner of my group about my low hours even though one cry meeting for months there has been discussion about the slow down in work. They basically set up a pretext for firing me making it seem like it’s all my fault for not getting work even though every time I reach out they don’t have work and I’m not getting staffed on deals. I’m tired of this shit.

I work as in house counsel, and a lot of the employees are not qualified for their position and don’t understand legal/compliance even though they’ve been trained and should be competent enough to understand. I am constantly cleaning up messes and repeating myself and teaching rudimentary skills to the same people every day. Does anybody else feel like this or have advice on how to get through to those difficult people?

M&A/PE associate (trying to juggle multiple deals) feeling like I don’t have time to dive deeper into issues and it being highlighted in some of my work product as I am having to turn things right away and just pushing things out - so issues I may have caught if I had a better/deeper/higher level understanding are more apparent when partners review. So, the CDC removed the Covid guidelines. I’ve never had Covid. I’m afraid people will come into work not wearing a mask and be inconsiderate… ughhh so distracting and disgusting. I’m also at risk to develop complications. Not sure if I should talk to HR. Not even sure if I should ask for accommodations to continue being able to wfh at least most days of the week to reduce risk. Idkkkk 😩This is so unprecedented. I always wear my mask at work. When do you think associates are usually let go in small practice groups that are currently being overwhelmed with work? Is it when it starts to slows down or when they already have a candidate to replace you? Just trying to figure out how long I have after annoying a partner 😂.

When, or if you set time aside to take care of yourself or do something for yourself, what do you do? I'm realizing I don't really have any "healthy" ways of relaxing outside of work, so drop whatever you got. It's starting to affect my personal life and I'm worried I won't be able to have healthy relationships unless I can take care of myself first.
