It’s not just you. It’s been my experience as well, particularly with white female supervisors.
As a female, I've generally found it easier to work for males vs. other females (with a couple of exceptions).
I’m a woc, men with daughters have been my best mentors! Other woc have been really difficult to work for.
Interesting!
It depends on a lot of factors, or so is my experience. I’ve always had female supervisors. My previous supervisor was demeaning and unethical, and she did absolutely nothing. She’d take naps in the middle of the work day and blamed us (support staff) for delays in getting pleadings filed, contact clients, etc. My current supervisor is an angel. She’s understanding, does her job properly and on time, and she treats everyone with the utmost respect and courtesy. We’d chat for hours long during the day, and supervision calls are always fun and we both look forward to them.
Yes
I find that men with young kids are nice to work for
Yes and I think it’s because men (especially white men) tend not to feel like they have as much to prove. Also generally, it’s always hard for me to work under someone that needs to overcompensate, not that all women feel that need. It’s just an effect of a market that undervalues women.
To this day the worst interview I ever had was with a black female partner. Yikes.

This has been my experience with white women. Can’t quite put my finger on why
I feel like women definitely suffer from ‘scatter brain’ more and getting stressy.
