Write back and let them know it's a medical appointment and you cannot miss it. Provide them with a letter from your doctor if necessary. Best way to do it is never to mention that you're going to therapy, just that you have an appointment. People will be more understanding of a chronic mysterious illness than they will about you taking your mental health seriously.
Stick to your boundary! I would write back stating as previously discussed I’m unavailable at X time on Y date but can be available before or after this time. Unless it’s a closing or court, whatever you need to be available for can be moved. And if the time is so important the partner or whoever can catch you up immediately after.
Did you initially get the green light? If so, then I'd just push back and say that it's an appointment that you simply can't afford to miss.
That’s a tough one. I’ve never been in that boat. The most I’ve gotten is passive aggression but never an outright “no” to needing to miss work for a person reason.
I’d say, “well it took a very long time to get this appointment as it’s a specialist, and it would take months to get another appointment. Unfortunately, I’m unable to reschedule. I expect the appointment to take ___ hours. Do you want to set up a call for ______ (time after your appointment when you’re sure you’ll be back) so we can touch base or the morning of? I am confident I can still attend this appointment and meet our deliverables, as I understand how important this project is.”
I would resend the original email tbh.
That's tough. But personally, I would mention the previous email. I'd explain how I am not available on the said date/
