Anyone has interview experience in PepsiCo ?
Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

Conventional wisdom is always to find the positive spin, which can be difficult after a layoff, of course. Perhaps play up your role at the startup, what you learned, what you innovated, and so on. And if asked about the reason you left, just say the startup become troubled and had layoffs. That's certainly not an unusual thing for anyone to hear, startups in particular are known to shed employees. Play up the idea that you took a risk with a startup, and you learned a ton, so it was a good experience.

The company went through restructuring, which resulted in a layoff, not due to performance issues. During that time, you learned xyz or something about the new role you want to focus on.
Absolutely, best of luck! Briefly give facts about what happened, and then straight into the positives from it.
I'm sorry you were laid off, that's awful. I don't think you need to worry about framing it too much. You can be honest without internalizing it. A lot of people are going through layoffs right now, it's not a reflection of you, necessarily, but the economy.
