Don’t join. Awful culture. You will not be happy. Trust me
I honestly think the culture problems are due to FIS actually getting involved, and subsequent cost cuts after being sold to CD&R. Used to have a plucky, rogue, can-do culture here, but morale is pretty low right now. I think it’s stabilized a bit though, so I wouldn’t recommend against it. To answer your question, OP, I think you can expect $110-$120k in the US for SC level.
yeah we just got through some massive cuts so it’s been a rough road lately
SC in Capco make between 100K to 130K, if you’re coming from a new role I wouldn’t settle for anything less than $115K . Culture honesty is not bad at all, i made the switch and i like it so far!
That speaking from experience Slalom or you just reading Glassdoor like everyone else?
Culture is not nearly as bad as everyone says just keep in mind there’s a weird mix of industry people who don’t know anything and then ex big 4 that are great. Very hit or miss on projects but if you align to the correct people experience will generally be positive. Definitely not a place to stay for a full career but a good spot to jump and get a big salary increase, then move back to big 4 or to industry.
As far as salary the SC range is massive and generally I think they take into account what you were making previously.
C1 why are there so many bad reviews on glassdoor? Is there a legacy I should be aware about?
It really depends on the projects you land and who you work with. A lot of the people are great, but even more are bitter and resent capco; they are waiting for something better to come along. But yeah, i.e. depends on if they're staffing you for a role that's already sold. I've heard external hires with that experience getting upwards of $140k whereas internal promotes are more around $110.
I made the switch from Slalom to Capco this year and love it. Not all locations are created equal, so when you see all these accolades on linked in about slalom buying another “best of” award - all I can suggest is to actually speak to people at the company and decide for yourself. Slalom went from the best place to work to the worst so I left.
Since joining Capco - it’s great. Smart people. Good projects. Great leadership. We just need to get over the legacy and history that got us here and define a new brand (that started 18 mos ago) and keep growing. The big question mark will be what happens after the next 18 months? Will Capco be sold again and absorbed into another company? Hard to say, but CD&R won’t hold us forever...
