I was offered consultant/b2 grade and week before joining, HR called and told me to reapply to the role since they are facing issue in the system. While I was reapplying the role was for software engineering. Previously it was for senior software. I asked HR why this change and she said your designation would be consultant only. I have been at my company for 3.5 years.
