I witness a verbal dispute at my job between a customer and a coworker. The customer was angry because she couldn’t return an item after the 30 day period. I was shocked how rude she was. It was hard to intervene because it wasn’t my place to say anything. How would you respond if a customer was rude to one of your coworkers?

It depends. If I think I can help the situation I will intervene. However, if I can’t help I might just call for a manager to defuse the situation. But honestly, today, most customers think if they’re rude enough they’ll get they’re way.

I wouldn't want to step in myself because it would probably only escalate the situation, but I would go get a manager and ask them to step in. Awful customers like that just love managers lol

It happens. I have had it happen plenty of times. I don't typically intervene unless someone is yelling or cursing. People have been so rude since Covid.

I usually do not intervene unless I get one my manager to help deescalate the situation. I did noticed that people have been more rude after Covid as well. I use to intervene but I fell like that never worked and made things worse.

Started talking to this guy through group a group telegram and one day he offered to pay for my lunch as I had helped him out with something. Since then he has been offering to pay for my dinners, salon visits, shopping etc and I have accepted 3-4 times. I am in a steady relationship and my boyfriend doesn’t know about this. The other guy just says he likes paying for my stuff and there’s no agenda. Is this a little weird?

I do sales for a major engineering firm. Focused on new business and exploring new markets. Last year I was in the top 50% for order intake, and first in number of projects won along with number of new customers. I think this is extraordinary given the effort it takes to win new business.

For next year my goal increased by 2.5X, and less of what I bring in counts towards that target. I really enjoy my job but I will essentially be getting a large pay cut. Lost in what to do besides quit??
