I work for a major health insurance company, and my primary customers are the carrier liaison folks at the major brokerage firms. Do these people actually have influence over what gets sold and/or renewed? I sometimes wonder what they do for us. Then I wonder if I should become one of them! Seems like a pretty lucrative job.

I covertly freelanced with another agency on a project that recently won a Lion. Reviews at my current agency are coming up. Should I use that award as leverage to get more money?

Additional context: I went fully freelance last year for a bit. I ended up going back to full time while still freelancing on side because the offer was at a top shop, but the salary was terrible.

According to the new Wage Rules, are companies giving Basic Salary as 50% of fixed Pay? Should we ask HR of our current company or the next company to actually do the same? Or the rule isn't a mandate and it's upon companies to follow it ?
