Industry can be a double edge sword. Both agenda driven and good personal development. I remember someone on here saying getting to a certain point in a career is a “war of attrition”. Remember that because as much as you are there to support others and have a good culture amongst peers guard yourself and still keep your own goals and values close to yourself.

Absolutely!! And remember why you joined the firm! Don’t make comparisons with former organization. It’s an adventure and don’t overthink about it!

“Industry” is a generic term used by consultants to describe any company that isn’t consulting. Which is 99.99% of jobs. It’s hard to give advice when the question is effectively “I got a new job. Any tips?”

Has anyone dealt with a lack of praise from attorneys? I'm not someone who needs to hear "good job" all the time, but we just got a huge deal closed that I worked really hard on and had a lot of overtime. And once it closed, the lead attorney praised the other attorneys, and said nothing about me or my work. I might just be overly sensitive, but it kind of stung. Thoughts?

So, I’m interviewing for a position that fits perfectly, HR likes my profile, had great conversations with them. Today I had a Panel interview with HR and the hiring manager. The manager is not experienced, it’s her first r manager role and she’s been in it for 3 months. I was prepared but was out of breath the entire interview, had a knot in my throat, had trouble finding my words. It’s like I had PTSD when this manager came into the picture. Ever had that?
