The lack of consistency in enforcing the rules is a huge issue in retail, in my opinion. I deal with this all the time and it's so frustrating.
No one's following the rules, but your the only one in trouble. God I hate that. Favoritism, ever changing policies, and no consistency in enforcement means your can be fired at pretty much any time, no matter how well you do your job. And they can give some vague reason that makes it seem you weren't a good employee. Make sure you tell the un-employment people about these policies, and enforcement, they can be pretty sympathetic.
I am really sorry to hear that. That is a really crappy thing for them to do to you. Hopefully you are able to find something way better than that place.

That’s horrible! I’ve seen the same, discipline not being applied fairly or consistently. Reflects badly on the company! Unfortunately it can’t be considered discrimination unless you can prove they did it for a reason protected by the law (race, gender, religion, etc). Nonetheless, chalk it up as their loss; I hope you find a place that appreciates you!
I would, just to be sure, get a free consultation with an employment attorney as it seems to me there is inconsistency in how they treated the employees. If one gets dismissed then the others should as well for the same issue. It is like you were the one to set the example for others. I am not one who jumps to suing , however, at the very least I would inquire, worse case scenario you don’t have a case.
