That happens more than people realize with acquisitions, contractors, or internal restructures. One way to make it clearer is grouping it as one company with sub-roles underneath so it reads as continuous tenure rather than three separate short stints.
I think it is more than fair to combine all three different contracts if they were for the same company. I don't see any reason that wouldn't pass a background check. I have actually done that for two roles I had at one company and I have never had any issues.

Thanks that's reassuring, you know how it goes in regulated industries, even after an accepted offer if you don't pass the background check you don't get the job, and it happened to me once that I got stuck for a week because no HR person from my previous company was available to confirm my title and date because it was expected to do so on my future employer software (I know, can't believe it) I ended up asking the head of the department to do so instead of HR, and everything went well
If you are receiving rejections over it, I’d absolutely do something different. Make it easier to explain that you didn’t make the move. The company did. I grouped all my freelancing into one, because it looked very random and probably got me a few rejections, too.
Really makes you wonder. I see it one way, but that doesn’t mean somebody else sees it the same. Very glad they let you know!
t’s tricky, but framing it as one continuous experience with different legal entities often clarifies things for hiring teams.
