If an agency came back to your hourly rate with “we just checked with finance and hour max budget for this is ___ /hr”, is there room for negotiation?
It’s a lot less than my standard rate but I don’t have a ton of work lined up and don’t want to lose the opportunity. This would be fairly stable and I would be breaking into a new industry that I want to break into. Also, is there a freelancers bowl?

I recently got a GM role at a mid sized transportation company overseeing P&L ($30-35 million) for a dozen markets.

I didnt have any P&L responsibility before. Do you guys recommend doing alot of 1:1 with a mentor or taking a particular self taught course where I can brush up my skills?

I feel burnt out by how ruthless the tech industry in US is, but I also know I’m making much more money than people outside of tech or consulting.

I’m so burnt out that I wish I could yell at people who were not kind or supportive to me, but those people often unfortunately were in position of power.

The particular job I’m looking at has this on the listing and I’m curious as to what their budget actually is. Do I assume a range?
