Being able to splurge on whatever overpriced food and beverages my family wants while out at live sports games, movies, fests, etc.
Conversation Starter
Yeah. It’s pretty underrated that you can buy that expensive food when you’re out. Always was a symbol of money to me growing up
Fishing gear. I can buy whatever I want these days and not even check my account. We used to dig for worms in the garden with my grandpa as a kid because we couldn’t spend money on them at the bait shop.
Conversation Starter
Oh, yes. Congrats
Buying damned near everything new. Still shop sales and whatnot

This is quite a satisfying feeling. Not because you want praise but to be able to lend a helping hand and see peoples issues get a little easier to bear is worth it.
Toilet paper. Growing up we had to use old newspapers. Now I make sure I have a stack of toilet paper so I never run out of it.

I remember on on elderly lady whom my family had always known that was born in the 1920s and grew up in the depression era. I distinctly remember her telling me that they had to ration toilet paper.
Buying Pellegrino - glass bottle kind (but only when it’s on sale ofc 🤣).

Even on sale it’s a big purchase lol
Being able to go on vacation without worrying about money. Obviously, we still budget, but it's not a big deal if we're over budget. Being financially free and not having to worry about whether or not we can afford things. Not living pay cheque to pay cheque.

Having grown up poor and now having the ability to now purchase items brand new—especially luxury watches. What was once out of reach is now a symbol of my achievements and a reminder of the journey.
Conversation Starter
That is a great way to describe what those luxury items mean. To serve as a physical reminder of how far you’ve come

That’s a heck of a story. It’s the little things that you remember
Being able to order food for delivery
Being able to buy a new car. This was a huge moment for me since my entire family only drive cars that were used 10+ years old.
Being able to shop at Abercrombie as an adult since it was way out of price range as a child for my parents to afford
Conversation Starter
Abercrombie was quite the time. Except I was a little younger when it came out
Having a car and being able to replace it when needed.
My mom didn't drive. When she finally did in her 50s she was rear ended and the car was totaled, and she never drove again. I had to get rides with relatives and the bus until I was 19.

Man that’s terrible. There’s nothing like having your own
I’m in the process of upgrading my kitchen appliances even though my current ones still work. Just wanted something a little nicer.
Conversation Starter
Sounds like my aunt. Replaced her entire functional kitchen with the most technical refrigerator, a coffee bar and counters of marble lol
Pro
Quality clothes and shoes.
Rising Star
Eating out, being able to buy whatever I need. Going on vacation with family.
Rising Star
I can just buy what I need without having to get the lowest price version.

Skincare and salon-quality hair products. I don’t even use super expensive products but I feel so luxurious for having these things on hand
Conversation Starter
I imagine you feel like a queen while tending to your hair now!
I can flush my toilet without scaling the person in he shower. Put utilities and my mortgage on auto bill pay. Buy my prescriptions and groceries without paying attention to prices or checking my account balance. Buy what I want versus what’s on sale. Not having to eat the same rice and beans based dishes over and over. It’s the little things that really make me feel wealthy.

Isn’t it strange that the most basic barrier to entry items for others are huge milestones for people like us? It truly is a great feeling
