I just got an offer from EY in London but considering based on what the maternity policy is which doesn’t seem to be spelt out in contract or benefits pdf. Does anyone know a) if there’s a minimum employment period to qualify and b) what the enhanced maternity pay is. I’ve read both 16 weeks and 18 weeks.

I mean she’s a mom so why not? If anything it’ll make you look good. Maybe a gift card to get her nails done.

I say get her something anyway. If you guys are in the early stages of dating, make it low-key like a spa day or something like that. But if you’re more serious, like you’re living together or you already have a relationship with the kids, you’ve got to involve them, help them prepare breakfast in bed then drive them to a mall to pick out a gift, thereby also giving the mom some alone time. That’s the expert move.

This!
C1 has the right idea! Nails or a blow out or even a massage for her would be great and thoughtful. I’m sure she wants some solo self care time!
Every woman is different, when I first started dating my now husband he took me to the mall and when we walked into one of my favorite stores he told me to pick something out for Mother’s Day. I had a kid from a previous relationship, so I wasn’t expecting anything but it was a really sweet gesture. So I would advise to get something small and meaningful, doesn’t have to be sentimental but maybe something she’s mentioned like a favorite makeup item or clothing.

Give her a spa treatment. As a mom she could use the relaxation and a relaxed lady will be nice for you too!

OP, can you give a price range, everyone’s saying spa as if that’s not $150+

Yes. Do it. Before I married my husband (who has kids from a previous marriage), I would do something fun like tickets to a baseball game or brunch. If you won’t see her on the day, something like a gift card to her favorite store and a card saying how much you admire her parenting skills is perfect.
I know you’re knocking the flowers, but honestly, I’m always thrilled when my husband surprises me with a bouquet.

I am in the same boat as you. I bought her a gift

Oh that would be so nice if you did
Maybe like a spa day or give her a night out on the town - whatever she’s into
What about the reverse, are you expecting something for Father’s Day?

Yes, that would be appreciated!
