This career. K&E is bigger than any one of us. Love is fleeting, K&E is forever.

That’s what I say every year. Then I think “but how much MORE money would I have if I stayed another year?” and the process just repeats itself.

Why can’t you have both with proper balance?

If you make the extra effort to try and balance, you can, on balance, do so.

I’m maxing out the 6th year for H1b and my I-140 just got approved. 1 month ago, my employer has filed a h1b extension but it is based on the approved PERM instead of the 140, and only asked for one-year extension. In that case, after 6 months (180 days i140 rule to avoid employer’s revoke), will I be able to switch employers even though the renewed H1b gonna expire soon at that time?

Need a sanity check here.

When I joined my current company, we were on a quarterly bonus structure with guaranteed payouts each quarter. This was, in fact, how the recruiter said he could meet my salary request.

The company just announced we are moving to annual payouts only, with no payments for 2023 until May 2024. There are no raises happening.

This amounts to 12% less money in my pocket in 2023 plus inflation.

Is this standard, or should I be looking for opportunities elsewhere?
