If you like the offer. Take it and sprint away
I would definitely give two weeks notice! And then not do a thing for 2 weeks. It's like a free two week vacation
They may let you go that day whether you’re on a PIP or not (that’s just how employment at will works).
I would reject the offer and take my chances with PIP.
ey2 kinda understand why my mans pip'd
Take offer, give a 2 weeks and coast. 2 weeks of easy money.
Plus, don’t want new job wondering why you wouldn’t give 2 weeks notice to your old job
Yeah just take the offer. Forget the notice, there is no bridge left to burn.
Tell new employer you need 2 weeks, work 2 weeks at old job don’t say anything. First day of new job call out sick with old job for a week then never show. See if you get paid 1 week sick pay from old job
Some bridges are worth burning
Put your employer on PIP
I have seen if you are moving to a competing firm, your current firm will have you pack immediately. If it’s non competing then they’ll let you stay for two weeks. I would just coast with the two week notice and accept the new offer
I have alwaya given a 2 weeks notice. Yes its not easy to work those two weeks but it helps with passing the batton to the next person and this gives me time to network with in the organization to those I really enjoyed working with so I maintain good relationships. You never know what may happen in the future. You may end up working together again. I have always maintained good relationships with past co-workers.
Pro
Always give 2 weeks. Often you will adked to leave but they will still pay you yhe two weeks.
No lmao - they’re pushing you out. Get the best deal you can and leave.
I was in this position. The PIPA was bogus and unwarranted as Iwasthe hardest worker in the team. But I put in my 2 week notice while on the PIP. They weren't expecting it, so it felt great to put them on notice and leave on my own terms. They tried to squeeze all the work out of me that they could. But I just coasted bc what could they do in retaliation if I'm already leaving??
I know for fact you're 80% not likely to beat a PIP. I wish there was a law put in place that makes PIP illegal cause it's one sided. I wouldn't put in two weeks, just go through the PIP but don't put any effort into it, leave on your judgement day without giving any notice.
If you're going to burn bridges, don't burn, it's no fun -- blow up the MF bridge :-)
If you are on a pip chances are once you give notice they will pay you for two weeks and cut you lose. Enjoy the time off.
Give your notice and sashay away with your head held high. Would feel better to quit than have them fire you.
Best case scenario your PIP ends as planned and they let you go (you should get severance) in time for you to start the new job. Worst case scenario you just give your notice as normal.
This is when having a good coach or RL is key. I people who were told before they were on a PIP that HR suggested it. Those people got new jobs and left before ever getting on the PIP. That way if they ever want to come back in the future they’re in good standing. But to your question give notice especially if you like certain members of your team. No point leaving them in a bad spot
This is the way
is water wet
This happened to me; and I left and couldn’t be happier! I was doing great work, and my coach couldn’t understand why I was on PIP and I just decided my teams were toxic and I am so much happier.
Working less hour, more pay, nicer team
I would image an employee in a PIP would be cut loose the moment notice was given. Two week paid vaca plus any accrued benefits.
