If you’re consistently the number 1 to number 10 top biller at your firm month after month, what kind of additional compensation (if any) are you expecting from your firm?

You should focus on originating work. If you’re straight up billing more than ~2,400 you’re not really getting any brownie points (you’re just boarding billable hours).

Now if you originated half that work - totally different story and you should be getting your cut of originations.

I got double market bonus last year.

I worked at a market but no billable requirement firm. Worked 2200,2500,2400 or something like that, just got market bonus

like

I always was a high biller by my firms standards (like 2100-2300) and would get 30-40% above market

I get $700k guaranteed and $800k if I bill over a certain amount.

Billed 2700 and got 20k, the same amount as the year before when I’d billed 25.

I wanted to get people's opinions on leetcode, codewars etc when prepping for interviews. I am a junior full stack dev looking to move to a better paying junior role or a mid role and honestly these style of questions have always stumped me. I have found that in a year of work to have never found them useful in tackling real world issues. Now I'm moving from a junior to a mid can I still expect leetcode style questions?

I work mainly with react, TS, node, graphql, mongoose and mongoDB.

35M. Friend zoned after one date. What am I doing wrong? I met her at a baby shower. We talked/text regular for about a month or so because I was traveling for work. Finally went on a date about two weeks ago, a week after I told her I like her and said she never thought about us being romantic. Today I got the official friend zoned text.

But actually how do you bill your time? (and don’t say contemporaneously)

Say you spend 2 minutes answering an email to a client earlier in the day and then 3 minutes on another email later in the day. Do you bill 0.1 or 0.2? More importantly, how do you keep track of that throughout the day?

Serious billing question - if during the course of the day, you first receive an email from Client A at say 11:10am and you read it, you then respond to it at 12:20pm. You get another email at 2pm from Client A and respond immediately. The next email comes in at 4pm, you read it and respond only at 4:30pm. None of the email responses take more than 3-5mins. You are working on matters for other clients at all other times during the day. How much are you billing for Client A?

First time visiting this city so it’d be great to take in some sights too (although that’s not a priority of course).
