If you’re on a H1b visa with a pending PERM application, can you go on an extended leave like the disability/ medical leave? Technically the status still be a fulltime employee so it shouldn’t jeopardize the H1b status but wanted to see if anyone has done it?

Why if you are on H1B is so much problematic for vendors looking for contractors ? Vendors keep on asking to join on W2 rather that Corp to Corp although for employees on H1B we cannot join on W2 due to immigration issues. Point being does it matter for end client , if the contractor is coming as W2 or not ?
