Just…. Do it? Bar applicants aren’t publicized usually… Obviously bar members often are publicized, but there isn’t a way around that

OP’s question was “how do you go about applying?”, not “when do I move?”
What people here fail to understand (maybe because they haven’t been in your position) is that some states require your current employer to send an affidavit or some similar document confirming that you work there.
This happened to me and DC, I think, back in the day. I just told my employer that I had family there and thought it might come in handy someday.
If you're a transactional attorney (and often even with litigators), as long as you can waive into the bar, firms usually won't have a problem with you starting before you're fully admitted, so I would jus start applying to roles in the new jurisdiction and tell them you've initiated the application process (this will be true if you've started filling out the paperwork). If you actually need to take the bar exam in that state, then I would call the board of law examiners in the state and inquire whether they need to contact your current employer before the exam. If not, then go ahead and register for that state's bar and start applying in the other jurisdiction so you can at least say you're registered to take the bar when you apply.
You don’t want them to know you moved or applied for the bar? If the later, Just apply.
