Part 2: what should I say when I give them a call for an update while sounding professional because I don’t want to keep bugging them and I want to make sure it doesn’t look bad on me. Thank you 😊
When was the last time you heard from them? If they told you they would contact you by June, I think it's perfectly reasonable to reach out now for an update. You need information so you can plan accordingly.
Also, keep in mind that there are plenty of reasons for communication delays. The person you've been working with could be out of the office unexpectedly, they could be waiting on information from the school, or your assignment may still be getting finalized. Sometimes things simply get stuck in the process.
Never feel bad about following up professionally. It's their responsibility to keep candidates informed, and when expectations aren't clear, it's natural to feel anxious about where things stand.
As for an response, you could go with t something like "Hi, I wanted to check in regarding my assignment/onboarding timeline. I know the school will be closed soon, and I wanted to make sure I haven't missed any updates. Thank you for your time,"

I spoke with them last month on April 15th, 2026 I have also been checking my emails too. I just don’t want to keep bothering them too much. I am a fan of communication and I like to plan things ahead of time. The agency told me I would receive a call and an email to respond for a child I will be assigned to. I feel like giving them a call before the school closes for their first half of summer break.
