I'm 31, CPA, and have a total of 3 years of exp, 2 in big4 tax, and 1 in IA. I just resigned at a new job due to bullying after 3 months w.o. anything lined up.

My husband and I have been planning to have a baby in the near future, wanting to stay home for the child for the first 4 years of their life. I was wondering if I should just start trying now, or should I work for a few more years so that I can have a senior title on my resume first? I am afraid of becoming unemployable after 4 years..

Anyone have advice for advancing in your current role? My co-worker was hired in at manager level but somehow “proved” he was actually doing director level work and got a title promotion and salary increase in less than a year. I also went above and beyond my job as well (covering for him for a month while he was away on paternity leave) while taking on other projects outside of my job title and got zip—no raise or recognition. Applied for a position in Johnson and Johnson Canada. Reached the final round 3 weeks back. After not getting any updates I emailed the HR a couple of weeks back. They responded back telling me that they’ll have an update for me the next week. Again I emailed them on Thursday asking if they have anything for me before the long weekend ( Good Friday & Easter). No response whatsoever. Will emailing them again be inappropriate? I desperately need this job

What would be the best method to transition from a financial advisory role to a more financial analyst focused position? Is this type of move unheard of/too difficult to do?

FDD/TAS Senior > Restructuring (Rx) analyst or associate (FAS/Banking) - Has anyone seen it done before? Would starting from Valuation instead of FDD be a better stepping stone to Rx banking. Also, I would imagine the best Rx banking exit would be to HL. Is FTI Rx (FAS) considered better than EY-P Restructuring consulting? How about compared to AM Rx (FAS). Thanks for any input!

FYI: I found one document saying I need to give a 30 day notice and the employee handbook says 2 weeks to be in “good standing”.
