Honestly, I wouldn’t remove it. Leading events, planning, and growing membership are solid leadership and organizational skills. Plus, it shows initiative. If a company sees DEI work as a red flag, is that somewhere you’d want to be? Your volunteer work reflects values and skills they should value too.
Take it off.
But don’t remove the experience, the initiatives you lead, etc. Make things about what you accomplished and why YOU were chosen, not the reason the effort was being done.
You have skills and experience that are of value.
However, “read the room”, any organization you would want to work for has swung to the new POTUS, unless you have a moral objection ( it seems the CEOs don’t) focus on what you can contribute.
Work is about making $$ (with benefits) leading to making more of the same.
If you want to make a difference, take some of that comp and donate it to those orgs that are leading the way.
Keep it. Be proud of who you are. And be proud of what you're doing. I empathize with your concern. There will be a lot of problems in the next months and years. But hiding mention of your leadership qualities seems like a bad idea. If people are going to discriminate against for that, well, they're not going to give you any opportunity anyway.
Not full of fear. Who are you to presume what I feel?
“Show up work….” I assume you’re trying to say show up and work? I can’t show up to a job I don’t have.
“Keep moving forward” I’ve built an e-commerce website for myself to sell seeds from my property, a foraging mobile app that documents foraged plants, tracks processes and product for herbalists and I’ve built a greenhouse to grow my own food, so the next time you want to comment remember how foolish you look when you presume to know what you clearly know nothing about.
Never be afraid of standing forward on your accomplishments. If someone doesn't like it then they are not a company you should want to work at because it would be negative vibes and prejudices. If a company is worth it, their HR will not influence nor support prejudices nor racism.
What does a resource group have to do with DEI? These topics aren't necessarily conflated.
What matters is if you are sincerely helping others, and also to be fair to everyone.
It's cool. You've been so dedicated in this area, and you have a great achievement in that area. on the other hand, it's. a bit negative to think that you should get ahead because of the color of your skin.
There is nothing wrong with helping build the best company possible with the most qualified people. You bring your whole self to work. I viewed most DEI as window dressing aimed at pacifying social justice warriors. However, I walk out my life in such a way as to look for candidates with a higher melanin skin content than mine. I mentor younger folks and provide guidance (if desired) from my 35 plus years in the work force. Skills, attitude, persistence, willingness to learn are all indespensible in a successful career and these aren't reflected in a mirror...
I consider that you are doing well and that you should stick with what works best for you and your family.
Depends on who you want or need to appeal to. Ideally, you can afford to attract interest from those who share your values. They are important and will outlast this current, classic reactionary bubble.
Yes. DEI is done. Deal with it.
Either dig in and be proud, or you can publicly refer to it as
Human Resources Outreach
- Liaison and Chairperson
Please don't remove it. You should be proud of any accomplishment that means opening the door to more pretty getting a fair chance at work.

If you don't want people to know you are a decent person, I would get rid of it.
Don't change anything, Don't discriminate against yourself like that. You are who you for a reason. We were all made in special ways.
You should hide it, the way I’ve had to hide being white, straight and male just to get my resume looked at
I can’t believe they pay a salary to a person that spends their time doing that.
Let me be clear: nobody is getting paid to do this. It's volunteering, you may not know what it feels like but when you have no other family members who have broken into tech it's very easy to feel alone, then it's worse when coworkers speak down to you because your background does not align. When you have a group of others who have been through the same it really helps not make you feel like you need to change industries to get along with your team.
So long as you are currently employed and just looking for something better, keep it. If a company see's it as a red flag it's not a "better" job. If your employment changes and you are looking for ANY job. Then tailor the resume to the company you are applying at.
Keep it as you are proud of it, it’s great! however if you think your not getting the resources you are looking for on LinkedIn etc, then take it off.
You may remove the DEI
It's part of your identity as an individual! The market is fluid, and that data is part of how you market yourself. If someone or some other organization wants to ignore or invalidate that. They will fail to acknowledge the invisible hand of the markets. It's not longer about jobs, or money, or prestige! It's about stating that this is who I am! End of statement!
