Has anyone lost an offer of employment because they didn't reply with a decision in time?

If so what was the length of delay and what was your excuse to the recruiter?

I feel like during the interviewing process you may have multiple interviewers and processes that go along with that, which means you may need time to compare offers. I want to be honest with the recruiter and say I am going to have to wait and compare offers when they are all on the table, which would be ~1 month.

I gave my first round interview today for RPA in SAP and it was taken by someone who is at the director level( from outside India). Is it common that for first round someone on a higher level appears to take interview? He was quite impressed and he told me several times. From a FIRE perspective is it worth moving back in with toxic parents (to both save on NYC rent prices and help them out a bit financially)? Imagine being constantly miserable/mentally stressed anytime I will be at home, and a 2 hour commute each way to work, but parents don’t at all restrict my freedom (can stay with friends, go on mini-cations with boyfriend, etc. as often as I can/want).

Hi guys, I had an interview for an SDE 2 in the Bay Area. The recruiter came back saying they can only offer an SDE 1 position, and currently the team I interviewed for does not have any open positions at that level. The recruiter mentioned that they have sent out my application to multiple hiring managers and as soon as they hear back they will let me know. Has anyone else ever dealt with getting downgraded for a position and then hung out to dry?

I can't believe we're putting huge amounts of power and wealth into the hands of people who think that buying pixelated kitties is a good investment decision.

How much math/stats is needed to switch from Data Analyst to Data Scientist?

I am currently a Data Analyst who is proficient at Tableau, SQL, and Basic Python.

I did my undergrad 4 yrs ago, where I took Calculus 1-2 (integral Calculus), Intro Probability/Stats + Econometrics.

To be honest my knowledge of math and stats has faded, so was thinking of enrolling in community college to take Calc 1-4 (up to differential) + linear algebra and more Stats.

Any thoughts or guidance?

I work for a tech company with 75% of the staff located in Ukraine. Most of the marketing activities have been placed on hold due to funding is now being used to relocate my colleagues in danger. Thankfully most of the staff is safe. All but 1 of my projects are on hold until further notice. I do not mean for this post to be insensitive or selfish but I’m worried for my job. My question is, should I start looking for another job?
