Why feel out of place? I’m a Latino partner in big law- would love to hear more about this. Chances are, you’ll feel out of place anywhere- sort of have to grab that bull by the horns.
I get what he’s saying though. There’s one partner at work half the office secretly hates. Some of the stuff he says reads like satire. He only drinks Voss water. Not Fiji of course because apparently he can “taste the plastic.” I would’ve left years ago if more people were like him. 🤣
I’m in NYC and most law firms here don’t have adequate diversity, especially at senior levels.
Gotta move to Miami where you can still call yourself Hispanic, si no, estás frito mano 😂
Honestly South Florida has a huge Hispanic population and you’ll definitely feel the community here
Depends on the type of work you do to some extent. I’m also Hispanic and practice litigation. Los Angeles is great. Latino legal associations like MABA have a strong presence.
Seriously? Houston is the center of Latin American culture/business - after Miami- in the US. So, it’s basically as good as it gets for you. I recently moved here from Dallas and love it. Way cooler culture and def more Hispanic attorneys. I’ve also lived in Miami. It’s great, and I would consider moving back, but it has the fakest/worst people in the country lol. There are just not many Hispanic partners anywhere.. but I think that will change within the next twenty years.
