Imagine the person giving interview is sitting on the toilet. That should calm you down.
Consider buying a fidget ring. Or something else that can help you focus your nervous energy. It’s worked wonders for other people I know.
Take deep breaths. Focus on what you can control. Stay present. Don’t worry about the future. Anxiety meds is last resort
Get stress balls and use one in each hand while interviewing.
Its definitely tough to get through interviews, I tend to get nervous sometimes during interviews in the beginning, I usually let the interviewer know I’m a little nervous please bare with me, they are usually understanding and this helps me settle in more. Just let them know and take deep breaths. Good luck.
If you are a nervous fidgeter, there are a few things you can do to enhance a positive experience.
1) Practice all the things you think could be asked during an interview by having a friend help you or even practicing in front of a mirror observe how you can look more confident. Continue practicing until you do feel confident.
2) Bring something small, such as an elastic band around your wrist to twist and pull beneath the table. This way your energy is transferred to a smaller area that's invisible to the interviewer.
3) Make sure you eat and meditate just before your interview with calming thoughts of confidence. It may sound silly, but with enough practice, it will become second nature and be useful throughout your life.
