I’m almost a third year (‘23 grad) and feel I am about to be incredibly pigeon-holed in a niche area of law if I don’t do something to leave. Will I be screwed forever if I don’t get out by 4th year? Wha should I do?

I have an interview at a firm that focuses on criminal defense. I currently work in ID and have years of previous PD experience. I’ve never worked in private criminal defense. What questions should I ask in the interview? What should be looking at to evaluate whether it is a good practice?
