How are the hikes at @UBS
Deloitte experienced hires, who all received written offers and in process of visa/ onboarding, have you heard back anything about hiring freeze? Or recruiter asked you to delay joining date?
My visa got submitted couple of days back and waiting for decision. When I reached out to recruiter to give her an update and mentioned once there’s decision will discuss on the start date before putting my 2 weeks, she mentioned “Yes, we should talk before you put notice” - Am I overthinking? If you leave just make sure you are absolutely sure. I would still advise anyone to stay until they make senior or have their CPA. Money can always be made, work life balance I would sacrifice a little if it means having a better chance of setting up my foundation for future opportunities. It sucks but if you’re like a year or less away, I would stick it out still
I don’t think it would make you look bad. You have the big 4 experience and there are a dozen good reasons you can use after a short amount of time.
I am assuming you don’t work for PwC because you will have only closed about one year of experience. I don’t think anyone should take a senior role with only one year under your belt. You’d be setting yourself up to fail
I want you to think about the things you do enjoy about your big 4 firm. The regional firm will be smaller, technology may not be as good, clients will be smaller, etc. I say this because when I considered this, I realized that none of the good things would be present in the smaller firm, but I’d still have to deal with all the stuff I don’t enjoy. The answer for me was not to leave. Or that when I do leave, it won’t be to go to another firm. Please think about it. I have friends who made this jump only to hate it and leave after a year
Don’t do it, should def wait to move until you get senior which is pretty automatic as long as you’re breathing
I've been through two busy seasons due to an internship. Which is what some seniors have.... so I think I am prepared. I'm just not sure if having big 4 on my resume is enough or if I need to stay there for the promotions. The work-life balance looks very appealing.
ain’t worth it
I would not recommend if you have only one year of full time.
