I’m applying for a job that’s requested a link to my portfolio. I work in consulting and even when I’m able to share the name of a client, I can’t share any of the work I did for them. My designer and dev friends can do example projects on weekends, but that’s not really feasible for research? What do you all do?

I just accepted an offer in writing. The new job will start the background check next which I’ve been told it may take a while to complete. My start date at the new job isn’t until 2023 so there is some time for me to turn in my notice. I don’t anticipate any hiccups in the background check but is it wise to wait until the background check is complete before turning in my notice?
