It might. Such skills are not needed every day. So it will only give you an edge if the role you are applying for requires basic coding skills.
I think it really depends on the community in question. Your community purpose might require some hard skills such as coding skills.
Not at the time and not all of us need to do some coding. But you might find it handy in the future. I suggest you highlight it during your job search and interview. Good luck!
If your community has something to do with programming, then I think you will have an edge. Always include your relevant skills in your resume. You can't rely on them entirely, but who knows, right?
