I'm considering leaving all of this behind. I always wanted to be a filmmaker, but I’ve ended up working on corporate advertisements, and now I can’t even find a job. I feel lost and unsure of how to transfer my skills. I've never felt more useless in my life. Even if I were to start over, the stigma of my age is hindering my chances of doing something significant. I can't envision a future where I make a difference for any company or for myself. I need help, but I don't know where to begin.

I impulsively spent $400 on concert tickets before I left my last job. Now I’m entering my third month at a new job and I’m worried it’s too early to take off to go. At the very least I would have to sign off an hour or two early to be able to make it on time. But I feel awkward asking because generally I wouldn’t take off this early. Characteristics/actions of the worst manager you've worked with?

I'm currently in a process for senior associate at a Big4. The process began on July, yet between the first and second interview it took like 3-4 weeks. And between the 2nd and 3rd like 7 weeks. I sent an email to HR during those weeks asking for an update and didn't have an answer. Then it a 3rd one was scheduled three times (the manager didn't connect to the first 2) and next week I have the last interview with 1 partner. Is the timing normal? Or were they looking for other candidates or what?

I'm reading this book on boundaries. In the work section it says I should tell my boss that I can't work after 5 PM. Knowing that advertising work commonly goes past 5 PM...would my job be in danger if I said that?
There's not really a rule book that says I must work until the work is done even though it's an unsaid expectation. Thoughts?
