I’m curious! Are you currently working your dream healthcare job? Or did reality turn out a little different than expected? I feel like the idea vs. reality can be very different in this field. Where did you land?

I think I read about some kind of process where when an applicant reaches out to a current student or alum for a 1:1 and makes a good impression, the student/alum can send a message to the adcom letting them know? Is it like a "Hey I connected with this applicant and had a great conversation with them. I think they would be a great fit for the program" type of thing?

My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change. I have an interview for a LTC/Rehab Nurse Manager, Infection Preventionist position next week. My base salary is $40/hour as a charge nurse. With overtime I’ll be finishing the year about $15000 above my base pay. I have questions: first, I know I’ll be putting in at least the same number of hours I’m current working (50+/wk). How do I leverage that to avoid a pay cut. Also, any tips from people in this position?
