inappropriate conduct is inappropriate conduct and if this violated policy, then it was your job to dismiss them. that said, personally i WOULD feel bad since i don’t think two consenting adults of any gender or orientation having sex, even on company time or property, should inherently be a fireable offense unless it interfered with the timely execution of their job responsibilities. but you weigh your own morals.
In the interest of the business, you are 100% right for firing them. Office romance will result to a low output at work.

I mean, it just depends on the situation. It they’re consenting adults and it’s somewhere private, I personally don’t think it’s that big of a deal. Power to them. But if it’s specifically against company policy or a workplace hazard or in public, then maybe not.
