I’m 26 weeks pregnant and trying to figure out my leave. I live in NJ and work at PwC, any fishes know the policy for NJ and PwC? The leave center has not been much help and I want to plan NOW not like 60 days before. I was told NJ gets two weeks before due date and PwC gives you two weeks as well.

NY is 26 weeks minimum employment to be eligible for leave. Standard would be that this leave runs concurrent with your company time off. So you would only get 2 additional weeks paid, protected leave through NY for a total of 12 weeks leave. You could add company PTO (if they let you) to extend your leave, or possibly FMLA - only if you have been at the company 12 months by that point (9 months at company + 3 months maternity leave).
I took NY leave when my employer had maternity leave. I’ve also taken NJ leave concurrent with employer maternity leave.
D1 is right, it is concurrent
My main question: Can I take 10 fully paid weeks through my employer, then follow that with 12 additional weeks paid via NYS PFL? Has anyone done this?
I haven’t accepted the written offer yet (and I currently have a job that offers 5 months of paid parental leave). I’m considering having a brief conversation with the hiring manager tomorrow before signing to let him know I’m pregnant—just to get verbal or written confirmation that I’d be able to take around 5 months total of parental leave, and potentially that I could leverage unlimited paid PTO for a month of parental leave.
Concurrent. Typically the company pays the subsidy between what the state pays and your salary
In NJ you have to be with your employer for a year to be entitled to the state leave and job protection. Not sure about NY.
Nope, these will run concurrently.
Even though 10 weeks may not sound great, it’s honestly pretty amazing that they give you leave after 6 months since most places require a year of employment. Congratulations on your offer and on your salary bump & upcoming baby bump!
