Do you have work life balance? If yes I will swap with you lol
Tax @ RSM
After many years in my career, this is the kind of role I would want. It would allow me to slow down a bit and focus more on process and administrative work instead of client facing responsibilities.
Ultimately, it comes down to what matters most to you. Taking on more client work often means longer hours and less personal time, so it is important to think about how that trade off fits with your life. Your stage in life, family situation, and long term goals all factor into the decision. If you are earlier in your career and focused on advancing, moving to a larger firm could help you progress more quickly.
Do you think shaping the role to better match your preferences would help you feel more successful and ultimately have you client facing more?
OP think you have answered your own question. Go back to client facing technical role where you thrive and are appreciated. Life too short to not be happy. Remember what you do today you will look at when you get older as good old days or bad old days.
You still do a lot of admin work at larger firms also
Not this much. My role is technically classified as ops.
