Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?

Great location, very quiet, central and walking distance to St. Paul’s for even more tube lines, the estate is clean and quite pretty imho
Rent is ridiculously high even for London in terms of what you get, my flat had the tiniest old kitchen, no big grocery shops around (apart from Waitrose)
It was my first ever flat in London so I fondly look back on those times ha
Woah f me, I’ve just realised a 1-bed is about £3k/month in Barbican. I’m guessing the only people who live there are internationals/Americans/trust fund kids?
I'm living in the barbican now so hopefully some helpful insights.
Pros
-Great location with the best transport access I've had living in London (short walking distance to Hammersmith & City, Circle, Metropolitan, Elizabeth, Central, and Northern lines; Thameslink for Gatwick and Luton airports; National rail from Liverpool St.)
-The estate is beautiful and being a resident gives you access to private garden, tennis courts
-Most rent includes heating so partly bills included (I've definitely saved money because of this as my electricity for a 1 bed has been about 20 quid a month even with increases)
-All buildings have a porter
-Access to amazing art and culture
Cons
-Rent is materially more expensive than most places in the area or London
-Easy to get lost. Hard getting visitors and deliveroo to find you haha
-Empty streets on the weekends you don't have that lively high street feel though shoreditch is close by
Verdict: Honestly love living here and would recommend anyone with the capacity to handle the cost to do so even as an experience
Thanks for this! 🥹
Sounds wonderfully arty to me. An experience you’ll probably never forget.
