I'm currently a non-equity partner at a boutique firm in Los Angeles, where I've worked for nearly eight years. Over the past five months, we've lost three out of ten attorneys-two of them just within the last two weeks. Despite my tenure, there is no clear path to equity for me, and I've been told multiple times that I've reached the ceiling of my compensation. While I'm ready to move on, I still want to act with integrity, how much notice do I give?

I have 5 YOE in Analytics... always thought I wanted to be a DS, but every job (even the junior ones) required experience in ML development. Though I am part of the ML project, I'm not the person develop the model. And I have a hard time when the interviewer ask about how I develop the model and what hyperparameters I tuned. I know the thought process and stuff but 'I' wasn't the one who did that part in the project. How to convince them that I could do the job without taking credit of others.

I’m not naive or fresh out of law school, but I’m at a point where I’m saying to myself “Why can’t I have it all?” I’ve been offered a job for more pay and less hours and I keep thinking to myself, what’s the catch? I know people will say no promotion potential or that’s not how it works…but what if it could? What if you make yourself valuable by still setting your boundaries? Why would we resent someone who has that opportunity?
