2 weeks. A month if you’re generous. If they want more than that, negotiate extra pay for the interim. Don’t say anything until you’ve accepted another offer AND cleared conflicts. Good luck.
Kind of makes sense why so many others are leaving if there really arent' any growth opportunities. :/ I think you're smart to explore your options. At the minimum, give them 2 weeks, but up to 1 month if you really want to leave on good terms. It’ll give them time to prepare, and you can exit with your professionalism intact.
2 weeks. Nyc -I don’t feel you’re all than anything cause you’re basically an employee.
I would personally give 3 weeks to wrap up or transition matters but with the caveat I will not take any new or additional work. If you end early, coast, or they can let you go.
I wouldn’t expect 3 weeks from my senior attorneys, but I’d hope for it.
I would not give any notice without a new job in hand though, and that can force a shorter notice period. Especially if you will take time off between (highly recommend).
Good luck!
I'm going on my own, I have a bunch of clients that I brought in that are going to go with me. I won't make as much as before, but at least it'll be a start to grow my practice
I would think that after eight years, you are working on a number of matters and I think one months notice would be appropriate
